Logging food

Do I need to review every photo?

Yes. The estimate shows each ingredient and amount so you can correct it. Until you confirm, nothing is added to your diary or your totals.

Which ways can I log a meal?

Photo, a typed description, search, barcode, manual entry, and saved or recent meals. All six end on the same review screen.

The photo estimate is wrong. What can I do?

Edit it. Every ingredient and portion is editable before you confirm, and nothing counts until you do. For better estimates, photograph the whole plate from above in good light, one dish at a time, and add a short description if something is hidden, such as a sauce or oil.

How accurate are the numbers?

They are estimates. Photo analysis can misread a plate, Open Food Facts entries are maintained by volunteers and can be wrong or outdated, a barcode can match a different regional version of a product, and targets and averages inherit those errors. Treat the diary as a way to see patterns, not as a measurement, and check the label when it matters.

Can I use NutriSee to check allergens or a medical diet?

No. Never rely on the app for allergens, intolerances, ingredients you must avoid for medical or religious reasons, or medication that depends on what you eat. Read the packaging and ask a professional.

A barcode isn’t found. Why?

Product lookups use the Open Food Facts database, and coverage varies by country and brand. Search for the product instead, or enter the label values by hand and save the meal for next time.

If I edit a saved meal, do old entries change?

No. Diary entries keep exactly what you confirmed at the time. Edits to a saved meal only affect future uses.

Can I edit past days?

Yes. Open any day from Home or Progress, then edit, copy or delete entries.

Progress and plan

What if I skip a day?

The day stays blank. NutriSee never treats an unlogged day as zero intake, so averages and charts only count the days you actually logged.

Can I change my targets later?

Yes. New targets start from tomorrow and the days before keep the target they had, so your history stays truthful.

How is weight tracked?

You log dated weights yourself. Progress shows the latest measurement against your start and goal, plus history over a week, month, six months, year or all time.

Is NutriSee medical advice?

No. Estimates and targets are general-purpose calculations, not a prescription. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before changing your diet if you are pregnant, have a medical condition or a history of disordered eating.

Subscription and billing

Is there a free tier?

Not to begin with. A new account starts NutriSee Pro with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan, or a paid monthly plan. If your subscription ends you keep your account and history and can still log by search, barcode, manual entry and saved meals, record weights and manage your plan. Photo and description analysis need Pro.

How does the free trial work?

The yearly plan comes with a 7-day free trial, once per person. The store charges you when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Cancel from your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, not by deleting the app.

What happens when my subscription ends?

Your account and history stay. You can still log by search, barcode, manual entry and saved meals, record weights and manage your plan. Photo and description analysis stop until you subscribe again.

I paid, but the app still shows the paywall.

Open Settings and tap Restore purchases while signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you bought with, and the same NutriSee account. If that doesn’t fix it, email support with your account email and the store receipt.

Does my subscription work on both iPhone and Android?

Yes. It belongs to your NutriSee account, so sign in with the same account on the other phone. Billing stays with the store you bought from, so manage or cancel it there.

How do I cancel?

In your phone’s subscription settings: Apple ID → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android. Cancelling keeps Pro until the paid period ends. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.

How do I get a refund?

Apple and Google take the payments and handle refunds under their own policies, so request one from them: reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store, or the Google Play refund page for Android. We can’t issue refunds ourselves.

Is there a limit on photo analyses?

Normally no fixed cap. Each analysis costs us money, so we reserve the right to apply fair-use limits. If one applies to your account, the app shows it.

Troubleshooting

What does NutriSee need to run?

An iPhone on iOS 16.4 or later, or an Android phone on Android 7.0 or later. Photo logging uses the camera; analysis, sign-in and sync need an internet connection.

The app crashes or won’t open.

Update to the latest version from the store, then reinstall and sign in again. Your diary lives on our servers, so nothing is lost. If it keeps happening, email support with your phone model and OS version.

I reinstalled and my data is gone.

Sign in with the same method and email you used before. If you signed up with Apple and hid your email, use Sign in with Apple again. Still missing? Email support from the address on the account.

I didn’t get the sign-in or reset email.

Check spam and the promotions tab, then request a new code. Codes expire quickly. If nothing arrives, email support from the address you signed up with.

Privacy and data

What happens to my photos?

Photos are stored privately with camera metadata removed, sent to Google’s Gemini service for analysis under terms that forbid training on them, and deleted within 7 days of you deleting the entry they belong to. They are never used to train models.

Is my data used to train AI?

No. If we ever want to use de-identified data to improve the service, we will announce it in the app at least 14 days in advance with a way to object. Identifiable content would only ever be used with your separate opt-in consent.

Where is my data stored?

On servers in the European Union. The Privacy policy lists every provider we use and where each one processes data.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Cancel your subscription in the store first. The Privacy policy lists the few records that remain for up to 30 days.

Can I get a copy of my data?

There is no export button yet. Email support@nutrisee.app from the address on your account and we will send you a copy in a machine-readable format within a month.

Does NutriSee sync with Apple Health or Health Connect?

Not yet. Weights are logged in the app. Health platform sync is on the list, but we have no date to share.

Can I import my history from MyFitnessPal or another tracker?

Not yet. You can start logging from today and save your usual meals so they are one tap away.
